Tea swap

Hello Crafters,
I am so excited to participate in a tea swap this month over at the Paper Craft Planet. I joined the "Anything Goes" group in Fall of 2010 and have had so much fun chatting and swapping with the ladies over there.
The next swap I signed up for it tea themed. I was so excited that I made my project the day I signed up! here is a picture of the package I am sending.  A cup cozy a cloth tea bag envelope and a tea theme card.
I made the cozy using a pattern from "House on Hill Road" and the envelope is a patter I made-up.
Here is a close up of the card. It has the image stamped on fabric and stitched on to the card.

Turquoise Beauty

I made this card with a few challenges in mind.
I want to give each challenge some detail for this card so... this may be a word-y post.

Has a there FIRST challenge on right now. This challenge is to welcome the newest stamp set to their collection. The challenge was to use a sketch that a DT has used. i used a sketch by Paulina. My beach house will be available July 5th.
Pile it on #26 - My favorite things. I love using bling on cards! I used tear drop shaped rhinestones on this card by Prima. The color turquoise is also a favorite of mine.
Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #86 - Bend it Like Beckham OKay if you have not seen this movie... You are missing out!!! Great story, funny character and sweetly romantic. A favorite movie of mine. I love Jess's Dad and Jules Mom. The Mom is defiantly the Funny! her facial expressions are hilarious! Any ways, the challenge was to make a card NOT A2 size this card is 4 X 4" square.
Color Throwdown #99 Great colors for this challenge. I love that turquoise! The 100th challenge is going to be a big one!

Green Glamor.

Can you say Green Glamor! Today I am all about green and beads. Do you bead? I have made many pieces of jewelry over the years. But! I have never used beads on a card, today's is the first. I also have a beautiful glass bead necklace to show you! Let check out the card...

Did you see the beads on the butterflies body? I love the way it looks. The Cinema ladies have a Jane Austin theme going on with Becoming Jane. Fabulous chick flick, about the life of Jane Austin! The lace flowers are very appropriate for tea time with Jane. The first Cinema Saturday challenge was a Jane Austin movie did you know that? I didn't, wish I done that one too!!!
 Okay More beads...
These are some hand made glass beads I bought in Mexico. Don't these green and blue beads look great together? I had them in a long strand before but my little one broke the string. So I have given the necklace a makeover.

A Simple hi!

This weeks Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #73- Sense and Sensibility. I love Jane Austin movies, I am not much of a reader. {I think I am too hyper for it} the challenge it to make a Clean and simple card. This cards is so simple and has a beautiful clean look.  I love the wide nature shots that so many Jane Austin Movies have. There is so much happening in the English country-side. Picnics, swimming, landscape painting and long walks.

This card is also submission for the Embellish Magazine.
I used the sketch over at 2S4Y Laura's Sketch 49 and the Verve March Project Parade challenge.

Easter Kite flying is an Eater tradition in some West-indian cultures. The kites are recognized as a symbol of Christ's resurrection. I made this card for my Godmother, we are from Guyana. Almost all of our Family member enjoy kite flying. So Easter gets pretty exciting!
This card is made with the Split-Coast Stamper's sketch this week SC272.
I used the You're Dandy stamp set from Practicing creativity as well as the SU! set Well Scripted.

Easter card and Fax Lightbox tutorial.

This card is for the a few challenges:
Pile it on Lucky me Challenge
Cute card thursday Challenge 101 - Ribbon-Tastic!
Clearly iStamp Hip to be square
I want to show you how I took this picture without a Lightbox.
As I mentioned I am focusing on photograph right now. {Shaz's Project 365}
{Don't worry I will still have cards and crafts} I have tried a few ways of making a lightbox but the all seem expensive or flimsy for a house with 4 kids. To get this type of picture I use some house hold items. A chair with armrests a big window and a white curtain.
Here you can see what I used: a toddler chair, a whit linen curtain and a sliding door.
Since I use the sun as my source of light timing is important. I like to take my picture between noon and 4 o'clock. I have turned the yard light on to help but it does not do much. I drape the curtain over the chair to create the "box". I tend to tuck the curtain in the seat of the chair so I can stand my cards.

When I set my card in place  I get really close to the box. I also use a close up feature on my camera to help it focus on the cards. When the image is focused I just click. It looks great every time. I love the detail and the contrast it gives having the white light around the cards.
Let me know if the tutorial was helpful.

LOST & 2S4Y

So LOST is back for it's 6th and final season. I could not resist making a card!

I used the sketch from Kazan's Sketch 46 over at 2 Sketches 4 You.
I did do a little flip to the sketch but it is the same thing in landscape form.
Check out the fancy stamping work I did on the button.
I also put a little gift together for a R.A.K.
As you may have seen I got a few R.A.K gifts for Valentine's.
It is time for me to send a surprise to some one.
I am sending a 3X3 card and these stamped goodies to the lucky friend.  I hope she has fun!

Asian Wedding Card

I made this card for the Caardvark "Are you ready to GET PUBLISHED?!" Challenge to make a wedding card. This is a wedding card inspired by India's hindu religion. I have gone to a few India themed wedding and felt like a pearly white wedding cards are out of character.
Hindu wedding in particular are extremely colorful.
The people of India look at the Peacock as a sign of Love and Affluence. Red is also a color of significance for India's culture, it represents joy. I love how vibrant the image looks. To get my "birds of a feather" Peacock from Basic Grey to stamp out this bright I used "Creole Spice" Kaleido-color ink on glossy photo paper. The card-stock is from Stampin' Up in Kiwi Kiss {ribbon too}and Real Red. I used Designer paper from Me and My big Ideas' "Modern Milan" collection.

Funny Guy Valentines

**Please if you are one of my many brother remember these are supposed to be a surprise!**
I love making valentines for my brother. I have 2 natural brothers, 4 brothers-in-law and 1 other brother. Anyways, I love making them Valentines. Last year I made them Energy Drink valentines. They loved them one of my many brother even saved his because he didn't want to ruin it.
{ I told him it was O.K. I could make him a new one}
This year I thought funny movie or TV Valentines would be PERFECT!

I will show you each of them and let you in on the Joke. If you don't know the characters in the pictures. Sorry I can't help you. {hehehe} But believe me they are FUNNY!
This Spiderman Valentine says: Web "O" LOVE

This LOST Valentine says "It's Feruary 14th Brotha!"
This Chuck Norris Valentine says:Roundhouse kicking you some LOVE!

This Big Bang Theory Valentine says: "If only one of us can be the FLASH I pick you."
This Zoolander Valentine says: I love you like a brother, I don't mean it like a actual brother, but I mean it like the way black people use it, which I is more meaningful, I think.

Happy Valentine's Love Alice

Here I go again posting for the third time today. WOW!
I have a Twilight Valentine I made For Jasper from Alice.
The sentiment says: "I knew you would Love me."
I didn't find this quote in the book or the movie. It just seemed like something Alice would say.
The TTC Challenge is to use texture on you Twilight Valentine.
For texture I used satin ribbon and Glitter embossed paper.
These images are from the Greeting Farm and they are too perfect for Alice and Jasper.
I did take the effort to stamping Alice a little shorted that her Lovely Jasper.
{I am very pleaded with how it looks!}
I used a few other Challenges to get this card going...

Happy Krafting!
