Crop 4 the Cure

I recently participated in the Crop 4 the Cure 2012. I had a great time with Kelly and the Cosmic Girl's cure team. They sure know how to party! I participated last year and had an equally amazing time. I made 10 plus scrapbook layout at that event.
This year I focused on making cards. I'm fortunate to have some loyal customers that purchase cards for there hallmark moments. I am well stocked with over 40 new cards for them to enjoy!
I am so pleased with how they turned and and so are the customer. I have already sold 7 cards. I'll give you some close ups of my favorites.

Disney's Prom Birthday Party #2

Hey Crafter's I am only days away from the Disney's Prom Birthday party for my tween.
I am so excited that the cake is ordered. And the decorations are finally ready!
The piece at the top with all the strips is a fake Awning that will hang over out kitchen door way to look like a shop entrance.
 Since the party guests will be watching a movie I wanted a Theater look for my banner.
 SO I tried to create a marque look with silver dots and rhinestones.

Disney's Prom birthday Party #1

Hey, all you crafty people!
Back to school means party time for my family.... Yes I'm excited for the kids to have a regular routine again BUT that is not it!  Birthday season is September/October for us with 4 + birthdays and our anniversary in a two week span.
Our second child's birthday party will be on Sept 30th.  After many conversations about theme and activities we are having a Disney's Prom  viewing party. I have ticket style invites, done and party favors in the works.  I used these fun ticket printables HERE to create the invites.  This is what our cards looked like on the cutting table. They have had rave reviews.

If you have not heard of Disney's Prom it's a "Chick flick" for Tween...It's about a good girl plans the perfect prom and things go up in flames but it is still the best night of her life. Super cute stuff!

Phonics Word Builder

Hello Crafty friends, today I have an educational craft. I have made a Phonics Word Builder for a grade one or grade two child. Our kids are at camp and I am doing "those extra little things" while they are away. The Phonics Word builder teaches spelling and reading at the same time! This Phonics Word Builder can be found at the Snails Trail Blog.

Before putting the Phonics Word Builder  I did some strategic thinking about: How can I use other academic factors in this activity.  Colour coding was my answer. So I proceeded to colour code the pieces as follows.    Root word = yellows, blues and its hues
Consonants = red and its hues
Prefixes = purple and its hues
Blends = Green and it's hues
 The kids came home from camp for the weekend and tried it out! Our grade one-to-be wanted to build a word that she can write in a greeting card. {handmade card, perhaps? lol!} I made a fun little note for them to write the words that they create with the Phonics Word Builder . I was very excited to see how much fun this was for them. They giggles at words that "sounded" funny and squealed when they built word that they knew.

Christmas Decorations 2010

Happy Christmas everyone!
I am having so much fun getting in the Christmas spirit.
I have lots of projects to show, so let's start with decorating!  This is our tree:
 {I'm having a hard time rotating the picture}
We decorated with lots of hand-made items some not even Christmas theme but still pretty. My youngest was very excited to hang the baby Jesus manger on the tree.
I had a great time making these advent boxes to count the days to Christmas. It was fun picking the items for the boxes. The kids favorites have been tie die silly bandz and Hubby's favorite has been the Icee square chocolates. They remind him of Christmas chocolates his father gave him. I still haven't put anything in #25... I would love your suggestions via comment?
Here are some other details I like of our Christmas decorations.
I love our stocking too. I made the green Blue and Black stockings. The pink one was purchased at the ballet by my hubby and the other two were wedding gifts to us.

Mom Goggles!

Hello, I am sure you are wondering what "Mom Goggles" are.
Well, have you heard of "Beer Googles"? ... when an intoxicated person finds everyone in there path attractive. "Mom Goggle" is similar. It effect those who nurture small children. We, the nurturers, find everything the child does absolutely WONDERFUL! You may have also heard of" P.I.G." {Parent Identified Genius}, possibly a heightened form of the Goggle Syndrome.  LOL!
As a crafter I think my kids art work is the best in the world. So today I shall succumb to the syndrome and show off some of my Mother's Day gifts.

I think her spelling is cute! {I know it's wrong.}

Aren't they wonderful! Two of my kids can't find what they made me so I am holding my applause...
I would love to see your kids art work leave a comment and a link so I may Ooh and Awwwwe at your little ones work. Please and Thank you!

For Julia & Riley

**NOTE:I will be adding an item to the ~Blog Candy~ every post from today until draw day!**
Today I am adding pink flowers used on the second card.
Hello Crafters,
I have made two card with the Card Positioning System's sketch.
The first card is for  Julia.  I used the Colour Q  color combination. Julia is a Lost fan like myself and she asked me to make her a card that reflects Season 5.
{Season 6 is presently on the air}
This card is for Riley. I provide child care for Riley on Fridays. I am going to be out of town on her 3rd Birthday. Riley loves Backyardigans. I used a tutorial from Stamp with Heather to make her Pablo card.

Bright Spring colors!

I am very excited that spring is around the corner.
I am SO done with this muddy winter!.. Blah...
This card is for the YNS Challenge 10 Spring Colours ...... challenge as well as the Creative Card Crew's Challenge 45 Get Well Soon... WAIT the Mojo Monday 126 sketch too.{boy oh boy}
I really got creative with this stamp... See the lamp on the side table? It is actually a bottle!
I added a piece of strategically placed DP to make a lamp shade and Viola!
I wanted to use my new Shark sewing machine on this card.
So I added stitching on the top and bottom of the card.
I am not sure the tension was right but the stitching is still O.K. Not perfect! but O.K.
I love these bright colors. I had so much fun with these colors I made this wedding card too!
No challenges, just for fun.
